Lord's Meal
The Watchtower limits the Lord's meal to a ONCE a year event and ONLY the 144,000 can partake of this meal. This is GROSS error! I believe this doctrine of the Watchtower to remove the frequent observance and general partaking of the people in the Lord's supper is another move towards their “antichrist” stand as the frequency of the Lord's meal is in remembrance of Jesus Christ and His death. Any remembrance of Jesus is an offense to this antichrist group. This group refuses to bow their knee and confess the name of Jesus Christ according to Philippians 2:6-11. This group is an offense to God!
1 Cor. 11 :26 Does not limit the Lord's Meal to once a year but rather "..as often as.."
In Acts 2:46 (for an accurate readding, read out of your interlinear) "... And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart.”
In the following scripture, you will note that Paul is not limiting how often they eat the Lord's Meal, but rather, he is rebuking the church because they have formed divisions within the church (noted in chapter 1:10-12)! Now, in chapter 11, they have gathered into their own individual groups and eat without waiting for the other believers. So Paul is questioning them "How can this be considered the Lord's Meal?" If you read on into chapter 11, Paul gives them the instructions as to how to partake in this meal in a God pleasing way. First, they were to examine their own hearts, then wait for the other believers so they could eat the meal together as one body. If they were hungry and could not wait for the others, then they should "eat at home" before coming to church!
There is absolutely nothing in these scripture passages that restrict the Lord's Meal to an annual event and limiting the Meal to the exclusive group of 144,000. IN FACT, it is this "faction" group, dividing the congregation into separate groups, that Paul was contend AGAINST! The Watchtower has turned this scripture into an exact opposition to what it was intended to proclaim!
1Co 11:18-21 GW In the first place, I hear that when you gather as a church you split up into opposing groups. I believe some of what I hear. Factions have to exist in order to make it clear who the genuine believers among you are. When you gather in the same place, you can't possibly be eating the Lord's Supper. Each of you eats his own supper without waiting for each other. So one person goes hungry and another gets drunk.
Paul then instructs them as to how to properly partake of the Lord's Meal!
1Co 11:29 GW Anyone who eats and drinks is eating and drinking a judgment against himself when he doesn't recognize the Lord's body.
1 Cor. 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
1 Cor. 11:33-34 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, wait one for another. [34] And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation.
Although the Passover was an annual observance by the Jews, and the Lord's meal took place the night before the Passover, all literature of the early church fathers clearly indicated that the Lord's meal was observed at virtually every gathering when the saints came together.
And unlike the limitation of the Watchtower of the exclusion of all but the 144,000, the scriptures clearly says that we ALL are to partake of that bread.
1 Cor. 10:16-17 speaking of the Lord's meal, says " WE, although MANY are one body for WE ARE ALL partaking of that one loaf."
Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
The Lord's Meal was a Full Meal, and was done "in remembrance of ME” (Jesus) (1 Cor. 11:24-25) It was celebrated “often", in their homes and as a congregation.
1 Cor. 11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
When Jesus spoke of the "Little Flock" in Luke 12:32, the Watchtower, without a single scripture to support thier reasoning, has declared that this "Little Flock" is the 144,000! Please note in verse 22 that Jesus was talking to His disciples who were standing there with Him and He called THEM "Little Flock", not the l44,000.
It is amazing, how the Watchtower is able to convince the poor Watchtower follower, that the 144,000 is the "Little Flock" and that only the 144,000 is eligible to partake in the "Lord's Meal!"
Judgment Day is coming, and the Watchtower will be Judged as a False Prophet!
Rev. 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My Voice and Opens the door, I will come INTO him and DINE with him and he with Me.”
