[20] And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. </I></div> <bR> <div> <FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Arial" >"Purge" </FONT>Katharizo from Greek 2513 (katharos); <B><U>to </U></B><I><B><U>cleanse</U></B></I> (literal or figurative) :- (make) clean (-se), purge, purify.</div> <bR> <div> <FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Arial" >"Meat"  </FONT>Broma, from the base of Greek 977 (bibrosko); <I>food</I> (literal or figurative), especially (cerimonial) articles allowed or <B>forbidden by the Jewish law</B> :- meat, victuals.</div> <bR> <div> By definition alone, I believe that the words of Jesus are clearly obvious & fits well contextually, in that, Jesus is clearly declaring that food (clean or unclean) does not effect the <B>Moral fiber</B> of the man. It goes in the mouth, to the stomach & out to the toilet! It does NOT enter the heart or soul of the man & does not make a man "defiled". Jesus continues the discourse revealing where the true evil comes from....</div> <bR> <div> <FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#008080" FACE="Georgia" ><I>Mar 7:21</I></FONT><FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Georgia" ><I>  </I></FONT><I>For from within, </I><I><B>out of the heart of men</B></I><I>, proceed evil thoughts,....</I></div> <bR> <div> Mark wants to be sure that he is successful to disarm this verse so that the SDA student will be certain that Jesus in NO WAY was giving ANY freedom to eat unclean food. Mark does this by using a series of scriptures to prove his point, all of which are deceptively twisted to reach his conclusion!</div> <bR> <bR> <bR> <div> Mark begins by using 1 Cor. 6:19-20 and 1 Cor. 3:17</div> <bR> <div> 1 Cor. 6:19-20 </div> <div>     <I>What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? [20] For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. </I></div> <bR> <div>     </div> <div> 1 Cor. 3:17 </div> <div>     <I>If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.</I> </div> <bR> <div>     </div> <div> Mark then writes “The scriptures are consistent. They don't tell us to carefully consider what we eat and drink in one place, and then that it doesn't matter in another.”</div> <bR> <div> By using these scriptures OUT of context, Mark has brought his student into subjection to his rule of argument. But IS that what theses scriptures are talking about?</div> <bR> <div> 1 Cor. 6:19-20, if you were to read it in context, has NOTHING to do with food! It is dealing with sexual sins of prostitution! </div> <bR> <div> 1 Cor. 6:18 </div> <div>    <I> Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth </I><I><B>fornication</B></I><I> sinneth against his own body. </I></div> <bR> <div>     </div> <div> The use of 1 Cor 3:17, also is used in a deceptive manner. If you were to read ALL of the first three chapters of this book together, you will find there is NO mention of food, but rather that this verse is a charge against those who would attempt to divide the church. In context, the temple of God Paul is writing about here, is the assembly of the saints.</div> <bR> <div> In chapter 1 verse 13 Paul asks “<I>Is Christ divided</I>?” and he mentions that one claims to be of Paul, another Apollos, anther claims to be of Cephas (verse 12). In Chapter 3 Paul continues, “<I>I planted, Apollos watered, but God gives the increase</I>”. Then Paul details that each one will receive a reward for his own work and he completes the discussion in climax by charging the Corinthian church that they are God's temple and if any of them should defile (destroy) the temple (divides the church), God will destroy him. Paul then returns to charge those who claim to be wise and concludes by saying:</div> <bR> <div> 1 Cor. 3:21-23 </div> <div>     <I>Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours; [22] Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours; [23] And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's. </I></div> <bR> <div>     </div> <div> So BOTH of these scriptures were used in a deceptive manner by Mark Finley! 1 Cor. 6:19-20 dealing with <B>prostitution</B>, and 1 Cor. 3:17 dealing with those who would <B>divide the church</B> and start their own sect, of which the SDA church is guilty. Neither scripture having anything at all to say about food!</div> <bR> <bR> <div> In continuation of Mark Finley's argument on Mark 7:19. </div> <bR> <div>     <I>Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, </I><I><B><U>purging</U></B></I><I><B><U> all </U></B></I><I><B><U>meats</U></B></I><I>? </I></div> <bR> <div> He goes into a lengthy explanation to convince the reader that the issue was not clean vs. unclean foods, but rather the traditions of the Pharisees in eating with washed hands and utensils. </div> <bR> <div> Mark clearly identifies the word for "<I>meat"</I> in Greek is "Broma", which could also be termed "<I>foods</I>", or better translated “purging all foods.”  <B>Mark is certain NOT to give you the </B><B><U>full definition</U></B><B> though</B>, because it shoots his doctrine right out of the water:</div> <bR> <div> "broma", from the base of Greek 977 (bibrosko); <I>food</I> (literal or figurative), especially (cerimonial) articles allowed or <B>forbidden by the Jewish law</B> :- meat, victuals.</div> <bR> <div> The “<I>articles allowed or forbidden by the Jewish law</I>” clearly identifies both "clean and unclean meat"!</div> <bR> <div> With ALL of Marks wording and explanations, Jesus WAS in fact declaring that ALL meat (clean or unclean), is acceptable. It's the things in the heart that defiles a man, NOT what he eats, clean or unclean!</div> <bR> <bR> <div> Mark Finley then goes to 1 Corinthians 8:8  &  10:25<FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Arial" > where the discussion shifts to the eating of meats offered to idols. I have no contest here as this is exactly what Paul is in discussion here.</FONT></div> <bR> <div> But then Mark shifts to Romans chapter 14:2-4 in his argument to say that the eating of meat offered to idols led some to become vegetarians, which is a complete twisting of the truth!</div> <bR> <div> He then writes “At stake here is NOT UNCLEAN foods, but food offered to idols." This is true only of 1 Cor. Chapters 8 and 10 </div> <bR> <div> But his statement is NOT true of Romans 14</div> <div> He tactfully combines Romans 14 with 1 Cor. 8, forcing the two scripture together to steal Romans 14 of its intended purpose! </div> <bR> <div> Romans 14:2-4  has <B>nothing to do</B> with meat <U>offered to idols</U>! This scripture WAS dealing with "clean vs. unclean" meats! </div> <div> 1 Cor. 8  <B>IS dealing</B> with meat <U>offered to idols</U>. </div> <bR> <div> These 2 scriptures were dealing with 2 different issues!</div> <bR> <div> 1 Cor. 8 was dealing with Christians who ate meat offered to idols. Other Christians who knew that the meat was offered to idols were offended by this. Paul instructed these Christians to eat the meat offered to idols without asking if it was offered to idols, for the conscience sake of those who might be offended!</div> <bR> <div> The issue that was being dealt with in Romans 14, was the issue of those who knew they had the freedom to eat unclean meat and those who were weak in faith that were being offended by the Christians who ate the unclean meat!</div> <bR> <div> Romans 14:1-23 </div> <div>    <I> Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. [2] </I><I><B>For one </B></I><I><B><U>believeth that he may eat all things</U></B></I><I><B>: another, who is weak, eateth herbs</B></I><I>. [3] Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. [4] Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand..... </I><I><B>He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks;</B></I><I> and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks......[13] </I><I><B>Let us not therefore judge one another any more</B></I><I>: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. [14] I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is </I><I><B>nothing </B></I><I><B><U>unclean</U></B></I><I><B> of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be </B></I><I><B><U>unclean</U></B></I><I><B>, to him it is </B></I><I><B><U>unclean</U></B></I><I><B>.</B></I><I> [15] </I><I><B>But if thy brother be </B></I><I><B><U>grieved with thy meat</U></B></I><I>, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died. [16] Let not then your good be evil spoken of: [17] </I><I><B>For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.</B></I><I> .....[20] For meat destroy not the work of God. </I><I><B><U>All things indeed are pure (clean)</U></B></I><I><B>; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.</B></I><I> [21] It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing </I><I><B>whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.</B></I><I> [22] Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. </I><I><B>Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth</B></I><I>. [23] </I><I><B>And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin</B></I><I>. </I></div> <bR> <div>     </div> <div> <FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Arial" >The word for "Unclean" in verse 14 is </FONT>Kionos  probably from Greek 4862 (sun); common, i.e. (litin) shared by all or several, or <U>(</U><B><U>cerimonial) </U></B><B><U>profane</U></B> :- common, <B><U>defiled, unclean, unholy</U></B>.</div> <bR> <bR> <div> The argument of 1 Cor. Chapter 8 and 10 has no comparison with the Roman church and the instructions given to the Roman church in chapter 14.</div> <bR> <div> Paul instructed the Roman church that they are free to eat the "unclean" meat, but if he causes another to stumble, then he is sinning against the brother.</div> <bR> <div> Paul repeats as Jesus did in Mark 7:19, that ALL food is pure! And he is talking about “unclean” meats!</div> <bR> <div> <I>Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, </I><I><B><U>purging all meats</U></B></I><I>? </I>Mark 7:19</div> <bR> <div> Romans 14:20 </div> <div>     <I>For meat destroy not the work of God. </I><I><B><U>All things indeed are pure</U></B></I><I>; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence. </I></div> <bR> <div> The word "pure" means "clean"! Paul declares as Jesus, that ALL food is "clean"!</div> <bR> <div> But for the man to eat the unclean meat in front of a brother who is offended, he sins!</div> <bR> <div>     </div> <div> Gen. 9:3 Noah    </div> <bR> <div> Genesis 9:3 </div> <div>     Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. </div> <bR> <div> Mark Finley argues that God would “not give permission to Noah to do something He forbade Moses to do.”</div> <bR> <div> The only problem is that Mark Finley has NO proof for this statement! The law was NOT given until Moses!</div> <bR> <div> Romans 5:13-14 </div> <div>   <I>  (For </I><I><B><U>until the law</U></B></I><I> sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed </I><I><B>when there is no law</B></I><I>. [14] Nevertheless death reigned </I><I><B><U>from Adam to Moses</U></B></I><I>, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. </I></div> <bR> <div> There is simply NO proof for Mark Finley's statement! No scripture forbid Noah to eat unclean meat!</div> <bR> <bR> <bR> <div> 1 Timothy 4:3   Meats</div> <div>     </div> <div> 1 Tim. 4:3 </div> <div>     <I>Forbidding to marry, and </I><I><B>commanding to abstain from meats</B></I><I>, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. </I></div> <bR> <bR> <div> Once again Mark Finley tries to argue against what the scripture says. He again notes that the word for meat in Greek is “broma” which he states is “referring not to animals but food in general.” Again, Mark fails to give the full definition which is</div> <bR> <bR> <div> broma, from the base of Greek 977 (bibrosko); <I>food</I> (literal or figurative), especially (cerimonial) articles allowed or <B>forbidden by the Jewish law</B> :- meat, victuals.</div> <bR> <div> So lets read 1 Timothy with this insertion:</div> <bR> <div> 1 Tim. 4:3 </div> <div>     <I>Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats (articles allowed or </I><I><B>forbidden by the Jewish law)</B></I><I>, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.</I></div> <bR> <div> Sorry Mark, your argument is futile. Paul IS in fact speaking of forbidden food!</div> <bR> <bR> <bR> <div> Millennium (1000 years of Peace)</div> <bR> <bR> <div> Rev. 20:1     Mark writes “The Greek word for bottomless pit is “without form and void” (See also Gen. 1:2)</div> <bR> <div> Rev. 20:1 </div> <div>     <I>And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.</I> </div> <bR> <div> <FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Arial" >"bottomless pit" - </FONT>Abussos from Greek 1 (a) (as a negative particle) and a variation of Greek 1037 (buthos); <I>depthless</I>, i.e. (special) (infernal) “<I>abyss</I>” :- deep, (bottomless) pit.</div> <bR> <div> I don't know what Marks intent was here, but his definition was totally wrong! “without form and void” is NOT the same as “depthless” or “bottomless pit.” </div> <bR> <bR> <div> Rev. 20:9    Mark writes “Satan and his evil hosts are finally destroyed.”</div> <bR> <div> Rev. 20:9-10 </div> <div>     <I>And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. [10] And the devil that deceived them was </I><I><U>cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are</U></I><I>, and </I><I><B><U>shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.</U></B></I><B><U> </U></B></div> <bR> <div>     </div> <div> Mark was very deceptive in this little trick! Satan is NOT destroyed, but rather cast into the lake of fire where he “<I>shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever</I>.”</div> <bR> <bR> <div> The Mark of the Beast</div> <bR> <div>  <FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" >Luke 5:21     Mark writes “If any human being claims he has the power to forgive sins, he commits blasphemy.”</FONT></div> <bR> <div> Luke 5:21 </div> <div>     <I>And the scribes and the </I><I><B><U>Pharisees</U></B></I><I><B> began to reason</B></I><I>, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? </I><I><U>Who can forgive sins, but God alone</U></I><I>? </I></div> <bR> <div> Interesting to note, Mark Finley is identifying himself with the Pharisees who spoke those words, and even identified the very verse where he got his "leaven of the Pharisees"!  But Jesus and St. Paul spoke the very opposite saying that the believer DOES have the power to forgive sins!</div> <bR> <div> John 20:23 </div> <div>     <I><B>Whose soever sins ye remit</B></I><I>, </I><I><B>they are remitted</B></I><I> unto them; and </I><I><B>whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained</B></I><I>.</I></div> <bR> <div> 2 Cor. 2:10 </div> <div>     <I><B>To whom ye forgive any thing</B></I><I>, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ; </I></div> <bR> <bR> <div> Rev. 14:7     Mark writes “Calls us to true worship of the Creator on the Sabbath.”</div> <bR> <div> Rev. 14:7 </div> <div>     <I>Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. </I></div> <bR> <div>     </div> <div> Do YOU see anything at all about the Sabbath in this verse?</div> <bR> <bR> <div> Rev. 14:9-11     Mark writes “Calls us to avoid the counterfeit Sabbath on Sunday”.</div> <div>     </div> <div> Rev. 14:9-11 </div> <div>     <I>And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, [10] The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: [11] And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. </I></div> <bR> <div>     </div> <div> Do YOU see ANY mention of the Sabbath or Sunday in these verses?  Mark and his false teachers want to build a foundation of proving that the Catholic church is the Beast, then they build their walls on the false premise that the Catholic church changed the day of worship to Sunday, then they conclude that Sunday worship is the Mark of the Beast! It's a house of cards and any true Bible scholar will see through this deception.</div> <bR> <div> <FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Arial" >The word for “</FONT>Mark” - “Charagma” from the same as Greek 5482 (charax); a <I><B>scratch</B></I><B> or </B><I><B>etching</B></I><B>,</B> i.e. <I><B>stamp</B></I><B> </B>(as a <I>badge</I> of servitude), <B>or </B><I><B>sculptured</B></I><B> figure (</B><I><B>statue</B></I><B>) :- graven, mark</B>.</div> <bR> <div> The Mark of the Beast IS NOT a day of worship! Do You see ANY mention of the Mark meaning “Sunday Worship”!  Chapter 13 clearly identifies that it is an idol or statue which they worship, not a day of the week!</div> <bR> <div> Rev. 13:14-15 </div> <div>    <I> And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should </I><I><B>make an image</B></I><I> to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. [15] And he had power </I><I><B>to give life unto the image of the beast</B></I><I>, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not </I><I><B>worship the image of the beast</B></I><I> should be killed. </I></div> <bR> <div> Anyone who would take the time to read through these scriptures can clearly see that the Mark of the Beast has NOTHING at all to do with Sunday worship, but rather that it is a Mark, (scratch, Stamp) given to those who will worship an image or statue of the beast himself!</div> <bR> <div> Worshipping Jesus on Sunday has NOTHING at all to do with worshiping an idol.</div> <div>     </div> <bR> <div> Rev. 14:12     Mark writes “Calls us to keep God's commandments as a sign of loyalty to Him.”</div> <bR> <div> Rev. 14:12 </div> <div>     <I>Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. </I></div> <bR> <div> Mark would love for us to believe this scripture is speaking of the Commandments given by Moses, but the New Testament commandment is this:</div> <bR> <div> 1 John 3:23 </div> <div>     <I>And </I><I><B>this is his commandment</B></I><I>, That we should </I><I><B>believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and </B></I><I><B><U>love</U></B></I><I><B> one another</B></I><I>, as he gave us commandment.</I> </div> <bR> <div> John 13:34 </div> <div>     <I>A </I><I><B>new commandment</B></I><I><B> </B></I><I>I give unto you, That ye </I><I><B><U>love</U></B></I><I><B> one another</B></I><I>; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. </I></div> <bR> <div> 1 John 4:21 </div> <div>     <I>And </I><I>this </I><I><B>commandment</B></I><I> have we from him, That he who loveth God </I><I><B><U>love</U></B></I><I><B><U> </U></B></I><I><B>his brother</B></I><I> also. </I></div> <bR> <div> 2 John 1:5 </div> <div>     <I>And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a </I><I><B>new commandment</B></I><I> unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we </I><I><B><U>love</U></B></I><I><B> one another</B></I><I>.</I> </div> <bR> <div> Romans 13:8-10 </div> <div>     <I>Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for </I><I><B><U>he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law</U></B></I><I>. [13] </I><I><B>But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. </B></I></div> <bR> <div> This last verse has a direct link to Rev. 14:12 which Mark said is talking about the Sabbath.
