Pizza

Did you know that a pizza has been created and dedicated to Crispian? The recipe is given below:

You don't have to make a dough for this pizza; you can use round or French loaves, sliced in half so you end up with 2 round loaves. The bottom of one pizza is the bottom of the original whole loaf, while the bottom of the other pizza is the top of the original whole loaf. (Note. The US recipe uses sourdough bread)

To make 4 pizzas you'll need:

2 Round loaves of bread
Pizza Sauce (recipe follows or use jar sauce)
Toppings (pepperoni, sausage, onions, mushrooms, etc. whatever you like)
4 Cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

PIZZA SAUCE

1-15oz Can Tomato Sauce
2 Cloves Garlic, pressed
2tbs Tomato Paste
½ tsp Oregano
½ tsp Basil
¼ tsp Onion Powder
¼ tsp Salt
1/8 tsp Pepper

Put everything in a small saucepan, mix well, cover and simmer 45 minutes. Let cool before using.
Preheat grill and lightly toast, cut side up, each round of bread for about 3 minutes. Spread sauce (either homemade or jar sauce) on each loaf. Add a small amount of cheese, then your favorite toppings, then, cover with more cheese. Grill until cheese is lightly browned and bubbly. Wait 5 minutes before slicing.

NOTE: If using sausage, precook it.
