1. Do you worship the devil?
No! Wicca and pagans do not believe in the devil, Satan or an all evil entity. He was created by the church,as a way to scare people into Christianity. The Roman goddess of the hunt,Diana,Did have a brother named Lucifer (this might be where the church got the name),but he had nothing to do with the Christian god. 2. How do I know if witchcraft is right for me? Only you can answer this question. A common rule of covens is that anyone who wants to join must wait at least a year and one day. This is so you can read and study about the craft and decide for yourself,if wicca is right for you. I think this is a good idea even if you plan on being solatary.
3. Are you naked in your rituals?
This will depend on the path and coven you choose to follow. Allot of witches and pagans feel being naked (called skyclad in the craft)brings them closer to nature, while many also choose to be robed, though usually skyclad under the robes. This is a personal choice. And one must think of mundane factors like privacy and weather. 4. What Gods do you worship? Wiccans worship both a god and a goddess, there are some groups, like Dianic who's worship is all or almost all on the goddess. I would not call these groups wiccan, for wicca is on male and female equally. You may call on a god or goddess from a mythology you feel most comfortable to,or you may call on many gods from different paths and/or cultures as you want,it's all up to you. 5. How do you worship? Witches love to worship there god's. Singing, dancing, laughing are all apart of ritual. As the goddess says "All acts of love and joy,are my rituals."You have the opening ritual. As before, this will very depending on the path, but generally consists of casting the sacred circle and inviting the god and goddess to join you. The ritual itself, depends on the reason for the ritual. A Sabbat,Esbat, spell casting,or just out of love for doing the rites. The closing consists of thanking the god's for being there, followed by cakes and wine(Or fruit juice if you pre fur),then the banishing of the circle. 6. How does wicca views sex? Witches look at sex as a natural part of life. You are free to have sex as often and whoever you like, just as long as you harm no one. There are certainly no orgy's in wicca. The only sex rite,is called the Great Rite, and only the two who are actually preforming the rite are there, not even the rest of the coven. 7. What is the Book Of Shadows? The Book Of Shadows is the witches "bible". Where one writes down rituals, spells, mythology,or anything else the witch feels important. Another name is Gramorie. The name according to Raymond Buckland, comes from the burning times,if found it would of been more than enough evidence to convict you of witchcraft, so it was kept in the shadows. Although it is Probably a more recent addition, for if there was any, surly some would have been found. None where. 8. Why is the Book Of Shadows Hand written? As stated above, it is a book to keep what you feel is important. Plus many paths have different rituals. Although the Sabbats and belief remain unchanged if you are to be called wiccan rather than just pagan, you might also have sea rituals, full moon rite ect. Another path may have more or less. 9. What are the tools of the craft? Guess what, again this all depends on the path you choose to follow. Some tools used in wicca are Athame (A ritual dagger),White handled knife, sword, cords, bell, chalice, pentacle, wand, musical instruments, caldron, and candles, and god and goddess statues. 10. Where can I meet other witches and pagans? The internet is one way,Pagan Profiles Is an excellent site for meeting others in the craft. The local occult bookstores is another, you can also look for gatherings in your area and meet people There. A word of advice,if you go and meet someone, meet at a public place, for the first few visits or so. this gives you and them a chance to find out what the other knows. Don't worry if you don't think you know enough about the craft,we are all learning, even the one your meeting. If you don't feel comfortable with the person you can always leave, and they won't know where you live. Safety should always come first. 11. Can I be a Christian and a pagan? My personal opinion on this is no. Christianity has strong views on worshipping other god(s),rather than just it's own. There are also diffreces in spells, and how you live your life to name just a few. There are some who don't see a problem being of both religion, and once again,it is your choice. Wicca does not say you can't also be chris tion, but you would be breaking the Christian laws by doing so.
Well I hope I covered everything, if not, please email me and let me know.
