CineSight Rating *** 1/2

Moses (Kilmer) is the prince of Egypt; a Hebrew adopted by Pharaoh (Stewart) and raised along with his own son, Ramses (Fiennes). After years of enjoying the privilege of being royalty, Moses discovers his roots among the slaves under Pharaoh's harsh rule. He's awakened to the truth by Miriam (Bullock), his true Hebrew sister, who begs him to help deliver the Israelites from their captivity.

Moses goes into exile after killing a cruel Egyptian slave-driver in a fit of rage. He is confronted by God, who appoints him as the chosen one to lead the slaves to freedom. Returning to Egypt, Moses discovers his brother Ramses is now on the throne, and Ramses is adamantly against releasing the Hebrew people.

The Dreamworks team have done a great job of bringing this biblical story to life. Through top quality animation they have realized an epic, which may have been impossible through live-action. With excellent voice talent and a beautiful transfer, not to mention the whole catalog of additional features covering all aspects of the production, this DVD package is a gem.
