THE BOVINE SPONGIFORM ENCEPHALOPATHY

SURVEILLANCE PAGE

SAVE THE COWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take this test to determine if your cow is infected with BSE.

Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (hereafter referred to as "BSE") is a disease which is not well understood. It is thought to be related to Creutzfeld-Jakob and Kuru which are prion diseases, diseases which are caused by self replicating protein in the brain. There is evidence now that BSE can affect humans as cross species transmission has been seen from sheep to cattle in the past. This webpage is designed to test the set up procedure for epidemooological surveys. Enjoy...

First, a little about our activities...

Bossie, a mad, mad, mad, mad cow. The wild eyed look is caused by a full blown case of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy.
Another type of cow, but not the object of this page.... Bossie, bikini supermodel who has nothing whatsoever to do with anything else on this page.

Fortunately she doesn't have mad cow disease.

"Mad cow disease" is destroying many cows around the world. In memory of the victims of this horrible disease, we are lobbying to have the United nations declare April 1 as "International BSE Awareness Day" and will be holding a protest which we have named, "Hooves Around the World" in which cows from all over the planet will form a cow chain by joining their hooves in one unbroken chain. We still haven't worked out the Pacific Ocean gap but we are working on it.
