In a WDAS/Website Exclusive I have the story of the woman that Basketball star Kobe Bryant left behind. The woman he dated for five years. The woman who loved him for him not the stardom or the money - she loved him for him. Who is this mystery woman and why was she kept hidden for so long? Jocelyn Ebron is a 21-year old college student who attends Drexel University. She is beautiful, smart and very much her own woman. Jocelyn is not some groupie looking for something. She loved Kobe Bryant, supported him, believed in his dreams, hung out with his family and loved him for five years. She never asked or demanded anything from Kobe. She loved him unconditionally. Jocelyn always did what Kobe wanted. When he took singer Brandy on his prom, Jocelyn stayed in the background and let the singing sensation go to the prom with her man. Jocelyn didn't leave her family to go to California when Kobe became a Laker. She stayed here in Philly to continue her education. During her second year of school Jocelyn was awarded the Young Black Achievement Award. You may ask why am I revealing all of this? When Kobe announced his intention to marry his new sweetheart (Vanessa Laine), he was still calling Jocelyn. He didn't have the decency to tell her what was going on.
Right up until March Jocelyn believed that she was going to be his wife. There was no argument or disagreement. She thought everything was cool. Then
bam - he meets this girl and falls in love. How could he hurt his girlfriend like this. He broke her heart. She had to hear the news like everyone else on the news. Kobe is planning to marry Vanessa Laine this summer. I hear the wedding could take place as early as June 24th. Vanessa is 18 years old. She just graduated from high school. She is of mixed ethnicity. Her father is white and her mom is Latino. Why would Kobe do this to his longtime girlfriend? Why the rush? He just met this new girl on the set of a music video? Is she pregnant? What is going on? Kobe didn't even pick up the phone to call and tell Jocelyn what was going on. Jocelyn is currently going on with her life. She has a loving supportive family that is going to make sure she gets through this. A heart break is bad enough but when it is public the pain is ten times worse. Jocelyn really loved Kobe and for him to treat her that way is a shame. Everything in life happens for a reason. When one door closes another opens up. Jocelyn get ready to walk through the new door.
