Lance Ostrander a/k/a Batwing5.
I'm 47 years old. Originally from
Waukegan Illinois, have lived in Phoenix area since 1969. Reside
in Peoria, Arizona. Attended Arizona State University in pursuit
of a degree in Geology. Never finished. I couldn't keep my head
out from under the hood of people's cars. I've been a mechanic for
25 years. I work on a fleet of cement trucks now. I have had my
own auto repair business. I gave it up- tough business, people
said I was too honest. Tell people too much about their car, they
tend to trade it in for a new one. As a child in Illinois, I lived
near Great Lakes Naval Air Station. I could identify anything in
the sky. My father was a aircraft mechanic in WWII. He told a lot
of stories. He washed out of pilot training after rupturing his
eardrum, then missed his ride to England to be a waist gunner on a
B-17 by a lucky change in orders. I was forced into CFS by
DingedWing and Bat 90. They wouldn't take no for an answer. Now
they hardly ever fly....dag nabbit! It is an honor to be
included as an Outlaw. I don't fly as much as I would like
lately, time being what it is. Whatever success I have achieved in
this this game I got from chasin' the masters Dusty, Goose,
Falcon, Cadet and the gang. My strategy is to stay on the guy who
is most likely to shoot you down. It's also the fastest way to
learn.
PS.... My favorite book in grade school
was Great American Fighter Pilots of WWII by James A Michener.
Teacher would only let me do a book report on it once though!
