With
my zone name of AussieLozzer you only get one guess as to where I
come from! The Aussie term for outlaw is ‘bushranger’ so I
guess Shotgun Kaos and I make up the Bushrangers chapter of The
Outlaws. This is very apt because I live with my family on a small
piece of bushland near
Sydney
on
the east coast of
Australia
.
Where we are is much like southern
California
in
climate. We have three great kids who are now all in their 20s.
I’ve
always been drawn to aviation. Control line models in my early
teens, then hang gliding in my late teens, then gliding which
I’ve stayed with ever since and then CFS. I am partners in a
Dimona motor glider which is very much like a light aircraft
except you can shut the engine down and soar. I’m especially
proud of my son who has accompanied me gliding since he was a
toddler and now works as a commercial pilot.
I’m 49 and have been a school teacher
for 25 years. I enjoy working with kids. That’s probably why I
like flying with the Outlaws so much! Despite their name
‘Outlaws’, I have found all to be great people whose main aim
is to have fun and socialise through combat flight sims. There is
no nonsense in Outlaws games, only fair play with stock aircraft,
lots of fun and the occasional good pieces of advice.
The previous paragraph doesn’t really
gel very well. A bunch of guys under the name of Outlaws should be
more like the Wild Bunch, than nice guys. Why, outlaws are
supposed to go against many of those beliefs that society holds
dear. In fact Outlaws are supposed to challenge those very popular
beliefs held by the common man. True to this outlaw and bushranger
spirit of defiance then, two of the Outlaws can proudly boast that
they….love Volvos!
