Branson, Missouri

What can I say about Branson. It rates right up there
with Wisconsin Dells for our favorite destination camping.
The drawback here was, it was still early enough
in the year to have more elderly people than families
at the shows and attractions and thus, less tolerance for children.
First, they double-sold our tickets, so after being seated,
another group came up and wanted to know why we
were in their seats. Good thing we got there first.
Then there was an older lady who made a scene and demanded
her seat be changed because she didn't want
to sit next to children. This was at a matinee
at the Jim Stafford Show (a family show) and
before the pre-show even got started!
This attitude was not evident, though, at our campground,
which was a wonderful place for our family.

At Branson we also spent an extra day or two
beyond what we planned, and we still could not do all
the activities we would have liked to.
There's so much to do here; shows, amusements, caves, you name it.

On the way back we enjoyed a visit to Bass Pro Shops
in Springfield, which was a destination in itself,
and also very family oriented.
