Saturday, March 15, 2003. Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding efforts. Other participants included Pat and Patty Calelly of Spring, Texas; Dan and Laura Zimmerman of Houston; Colleen Cookson of Shreveport; Margot Lingold of Marshall; Ron Munden of Marshall; Diane Jones of Jonesville; Dorothy Metzler of Longview; and Tom Walker of Jefferson.
Location: The banding activities took place just west of Caddo Lake in Marion County on Boots Walker Road (near Jefferson, Texas).
Weather Conditions: Clear to partly cloudy. The morning low was in the mid 50's and the afternoon high was in the mid 70's.
Time: The nets were up by 9:30 a.m. and were down by 5:30 p.m.
Number of Nets: Twelve (12)
Special Note: Eight White-throated Sparrows were released unbanded because Jim ran out of bands in their size.
