Joan's Page

 by Joan McKee  (older sister)

.... Kathy, being the youngest would want everyone to know this ..... :-)

Anyone who ever met my sister, Kathy knew  her family, friends, and people in general were the most important thing in her life. That "connection" she made with everyone she crossed paths with is what made her special and I guess what people miss the most about her. From her co-workers, patients and in the end even her doctors and hospice caretakers each had their own special memory of her.

A funny story I think of often is the little old lady who used to call Kathy’s telephone number by mistake. Instead of just telling the woman each time she called, that she had the wrong number Kathy would engage in a long conversation with her. She could sense the woman was lonely and wanted  someone to talk with. Lucky for the little old lady Kathy’s number is the one she called by mistake.

Kathy told us "Don’t worry I will find a way" to stay close to you and she has. In the past months she continues to bring a smile to our face and make us laugh. The bond between sisters is as strong as ever and is something I am thankful for everyday.
