Katherine (Corbitt) Neumann

This page is dedicated to the memory of Kathy Neumann.  It is a place for her friends, family, patients  and all those who knew her to express their thoughts and feelings about Kathy and those things that mattered  most to her.

There were many special projects that Kathy held near and dear to her heart.  Diabetes was a part of her life for 34 of her 38 years of life and any issue that dealt with this complicated and serious disease was of great importance to her.  She was a nurse, and  her work in the  podiatry field was an extension of her efforts to educate diabetics about proper foot care and how those efforts could possibly lessen potential problems.  Kathy also worked on an oncology unit for five years and ironically it was brain cancer, (glioblastoma multiforme) that abruptly took her life.

We invite all to come and visit, read Kathy's story and share your thoughts.  This web site would not be representational of my sister if it did not in some way lend help or support to other people. This is a place for anyone touched by brain cancer  to write and express themselves and share their stories with others. Perhaps you had a friend, or loved one who like so many were cut down in the prime of their life with  little or no  warning. Let us get these stories out and maybe our awareness can help get more funding for this type of cancer.

Glioblastoma is a devastating aggressive form of brain cancer. Because brain cancer is considered a somewhat rare type of cancer, funding for research is modest at best.  Doctors have yet to establish any risk factors that could predispose someone to develop brain cancer. Research is the only way to get answers. Please visit the American Brain Tumor Association web site for more specific and accurate information about the various types of brain tumors.

Thank you for visiting.
