The New 'Millennium' Starts Early

    Grammy-Nominated Backstreet Boys to Release New Single "I Want It That Way" on April 12 around the world.

Group Are Set For Disney Channel "In Conert" Special Taping in May, with Airdate scheduled for July 10th.

The new MILLENNIUM starts early--April 12 to be exact.

   That's when Grammy-nominated recording artists BACKSTREET BOYS will release the first single--"I Want It That Way"--worldwide from their much-anticipated second album MILLENNIUM (Jive) due out May 18. A video for the song was just shot in Los Angeles with Wayne Isham at the director's helm.

    Meanwhile, the BACKSTREET BOYS are set for their own hour-long Disney Channel special, "Backstreet Boys in Concert." Scheduled for a world premiere July 10, 1999 at 7:00 p.m ET/PT, it will be taped in New York on May 11 at the historic New Amsterdam Theater in front of 1,800 fans.

    MILLENNIUM is the follow-up to BACKSTREET BOYS' self-titled debut album, which just received the prestigious Diamond Award from the Recording Industry Association of America (R.I.A.A.) signifying sales of over 10 million in the US alone. The album has already spent 85 weeks on Billboard's "Top 200 Albums" chart and is positioned this week at # 29. The release of MILLENNIUM will be followed by a massive worldwide tour (details are forthcoming).

    "Backstreet Boys In Concert" will not only allow fans to catch the group--NICK CARTER, HOWIE DOROUGH, BRIAN LITTRELL, A.J. MCLEAN, AND KEVIN RICHARDSON--performing on national television, but they'll also get a behind-the-scenes look as the multi-platinum superstars take on New York City.

    The BACKSTREET BOYS--presently recognized as the biggest pop group in the world--have dominated nworldwide charts and received gold and platinum awards in 45 countries with over 28 million albums sold worldwide. BACKSTREET BOYS have scored five U.S Top Ten singles. Three of them--the # 1 hit "I'll Never Break Your Heart,"  "Everybody (Backstreet's Back), and the current Top Ten Hit "All I Have to Give"--have acheived platinum certification.
