4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS HEADHUNTER EXPERIENCE
Day l: Morning, depart Kuching by overland (4 to 5 hours) to Lemanak River. The journey passes through countryside scenery, rubber, pepper and cocoa plantation, secondary & primary rainforest. Lunch at a small town along the way. Afternoon, arrive at Lemanak jetty and continue journey by native longboat to reach Kesit Longhouse. Observe the daily activities of the Iban community. Evening, after dinner visit the longhouse and witness the traditional welcome (Ngajat) dance with sips of rice wine flow. Overnight in the guesthouse. (Lunch and Dinner)
Day 2: Breakfast in the guesthouse. After breakfast, witness cock fighting game and blowpipe demonstration. Then proceed by motorized longboat upstream negotiating more rapids on low water level, tricky bends & going through dense tropical foliage. You are welcomed to participate in the excitement of polling and pushing of the longboat against the uncompromising rapids. Picnic lunch by the riverbank with local food cooked in giant bamboo pots over bon-fire. After lunch, continue the adventure, trekking through the jungle, involving stages of river crossing and steep hill climbing. Mid-afternoon, arrive at your destination in an authentic longhouse in the midst of Borneo rainforest. Climb the slender pole with notches all the way up to the communal room of the longhouse to be welcomed by the aging friendly chief with his tatoos covered body. Later, go for a cool dip in the crystal clear stream to freshen yourself. Evening, dinner will be served in the chief's room. At night, the Ibans will entertain you with games amidst flow of rice wine. Overnight at Skandis Longhouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Day 3: Breakfast in a jungle camp with the chief while he relates the mysterious tales of yesteryears headhunting expeditions experienced by his longhouse folks. Then proceed to the longboat and ferry down the river. Pole the longboat down the river without the engine and enjoy the tranquility and peaceful silence of nature. Lunch will be served at the riverbank. Late afternoon, stop at the riverbank & start setting up a jungle hut for a night experience in the wild. Evening, jungle feast over campfire at the riverside before retiring for the night. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Day 4: Breakfast in the camp. After breakfast, ferry down the river and continue return journey by coach with a stop at a small town for lunch. Arrive Kuching in the afternoon. (Breakfast and Lunch)
