History:: The Everblades are one of two expansion teams to enter the ECHL in 1998. They are located in the southwestern Florida city of Fort Myers, a popular winter retreat for people from the northeastern U.S. and Canada. The team is named in honor of the nearby Everglades National Park. With four other Sunshine State teams to compete with, look for the 'Blades to develop some fierce rivalries and an energized fan base very quickly.
