Sigma Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha Baker University

Sigma Zetas celebrate their new members on Bid Day.

"It is always difficult to present a composite picture of any chapter, and Sigma is no exception. Very decidedly, she is not a standardized group. But perhaps her own summing up is all the truest interpretation. First of all, 'an outstanding characteristic of the Zetas on the Baker campus is our democratic attitude. Within our group, individuality flourishes; we do not want to turn out a 'type.' Ours is an all around chapter.'" -- The History of Zeta Tau Alpha

White Violet: The white violet is the flower of Zeta Tau Alpha and its symbol is a strawberry. The strawberries symbolize the first rush party held by Zeta Tau Alpha at Longwood College in Farmville, Virginia. The treat was given by a Zeta's brother who was helping the fraternity become established. The white violet is the flower of teh fraternity and has been used as a symbol to describe those sisters who have been a member of Zeta Tau Alpha for 50 years.
