Reiki
Reiki is an ancient form of healing. I will try to explain some brief history on Reiki but I won't go into great detail as I am not a Master and do not feel that I am qualified at this time to do so. However, at the bottom of the page I will list some wonderful sites which can take you into greater detail if you wish to seek the path of true harmony with body, mind and spirit.
Thousands of years ago, Tibetans already had possessed an understanding of the nature of spirit, energy and matter. They used their knowledge to heal their bodies, harmonize their souls and lead their spirits to an experience of unity. Years later this knowledge was discovered in India and other forms were also found in Japan, China, Egypt, Greece and Rome. Modern day scholars often come across handed down forms of the inner knowledge but many times it is often misinterpreted because it is often encrypted. Dr. Mikao Usui had rediscovered the key which led to the recovery of a thousand year old tradition of healing in 2,500 year old Sanskrit's at the end of the 19th century.
The word Reiki means universal life energy. It is defined as being that power which acts and lives in all created matter. The word consists of two parts....rei, the universal boundless aspect of this energy and ki is the vital life force energy which flows through all living beings. Reiki reaches all levels of existence and strives to bring them all into a state of harmony and balance. The practice of Reiki requires no special faith or belief, it doesn't care if what religion you follow, nor the color of your skin or the language you speak.
Reiki can never do damage in any way, since it only uses the quantities of energy needed for the recipient. Every person who receives Reiki treatments respond to them differently, but many feel a deep sense of relaxation and warmth. Some fall into a meditative state and begin to see things they wouldn't normally see. Some of the effects Reiki can have are as follows:
Supports the body's natural ability to heal itself.
Vitalizes both body and soul.
Re-establishes spiritual and mental well being.
Functions on all levels, whether mental, spiritual, bodily or emotionally.
Balances the bodies energies.
Loosens up blocked energy and promotes total relaxation.
Cleanses the body of poisons.
Adjusts itself according to the needs of the recipient.
Works with animals, and plants as well as, humans.
It is an extremely pleasant, holistic method of healing.
