investigating reports of activity at an abandoned tin
mine approximately 1 1/2 days march from Grik,
P/Lt.Livingstone and three Malay other ranks were killed
in ambush. Sgt Orr was killed in the Police/Royal Marine
follow-up. Subsequently the bodies were relocated to
Christian cemeteries with P/Lt.Livingstone being buried
at Kamunting Rd.cemetery,Taiping
