A large number of these
vehicles were supplied to the Malayan Police in the early
1950s, totally unsuited for Police work outside the main
towns and a death trap in a road ambush. Those issued to
the rural areas quickly became casualties of enemy
action, overloading and the unpaved roads. By 1952 most
had been wrecked and taken out of service
