BIOGRAPHY
Gustavo Pontón Martínez

Was  born  in  Cali,  Colombia, South  America in 1934 and died in 1999 at the age of 64.  He studied Business Administration at the Universidad del Valle, and the  Colombian Institute for Industrial  Management.  In 1950 he studied  drawing and  painting at the Art Institude  of  the  Conservatory  for  the Arts  in Cali, Colombia.  Mr. Pontón received  private  instruction  from  the renown Ecuadorian portrait artist and landscape  painter, Luis  Mongue  Salas,  who  was  living in Colombia at that time.
 

He  is  recognized  for  various  exclusive  and  collective  art  exhibits in Cali, Popayán,    Bogotá,   and   Santa   Marta   in   the   Republic   of   Colombia.  His painting are found in several private collections in Colombia, Panamá, Venezuela, Germany, Spain, and the United States of America.
