The halls of aquisition is the hardest guild in New Moon to actually join. It involves joining the Merchant's guild and finding your way into the halls of aquisition from there (its a sort of questy thing). Members are referred to simply as 'thieves'. The absolute hands down best race for a thief is hobbit - they aren't good for much else. The #1 important stat for thieves is dexterity. Strength is also somewhat neccessary if you ever want to make a successful snatch (snatch being the command for stealing an item that is worn/wielded rather than an item that is carried or in a shop). The other stats are very rarely relied on, and common sense should be utilized when setting them (ie low constitution equals very low hit points which can be a bit of a hinderance). Despite the recommended new moon stats, dexterity should definitly be 20+. Some thieves also find a bit of con handy, as those guards in some of the shops can take off a lot of xp when they catch you.
