Advancement: Mages are hard to advance, especially at high levels. Just keep using summons and killing everything in sight.
Location: Heliopolis
Alignment: None
Recommended Races: Drow, Elf, Half-Elf, Human

Mages of all types have a distinct advantage over other guilds due to the fact that they can all learn eachothers spells. College members can use academy spells, sectists can use college spells etc. The academy itself does not have super strong spells, but with the help of a friendly sectist or elementalist and a spellbook, all these spells can be yours for the taking. Intelligence is the key stat to mages, but not overly so. If you plan to be using your hands (as some combat mages now days) strength and constitution can be set a bit higher. Wisdom and dexterity can be normal. Drows are the best mage race, but their magic resistance can work against you some of the time, as well as their bad day vision. Elf would be the way to go if you wish to bypass these problems, or human if you want to do more combat.

College members can use academy spells, sectists can use college spells etc. The sect has spells which mainly deal with occult and black magic. Intelligence is important, but wisdom comes into play a bit with sectists. Once again, if you plan to embark in combat have high combat stats.

Recommended Races: Drow, Elf, Half-Elf, Human

Mages of all types have a distinct advantage over other guilds with the fact that they can all learn eachothers spells. College members rely a bit more on int than the other mage guilds, and practice mainly elemental magics.
