"A sickening phrase used much too often when reffering to kitties"

Feralswoods.jpg

"Three ferals meowmie was feeding in da woods." About a week after meowmie took this photo, these three were trapped and given a home, where they are all still together. A happy ending for these babies.

"Each Morning"

Each morning I awaken to the pain of hunger. I know that I must make my rounds if I am to eat at all today. I purr that some kind human will see me and put out a few scraps.
I hear a dog barking, I must run, I just do escape being hit by a car, while running from the dog. People look at me and either don't notice or don't care about the pain and fear that they see in my eyes. They turn their heads and walk away.
Today I passed a house. It was not a fine, or fancy house, but it was a house. I saw two kitties peering out the big window. Oh, they were so beautiful, their fur was so shiny and they looked well fed and healthy. I am happy for them that they are loved.
I guess it's just the luck of the draw. I once had humans that loved me, but one day we went "for a ride". Surely they did not mean to toss me out of the car. I didnt understand what had happened. I couldnt find my way back home. I was soo scared. Now no one pets me or calls my name. Some people have seen  me and called "kitty" but so many have chased me and yelled at me and thrown all matter of things at me, that I no longer trust them.
I must find food today, it is getting windy, it feels like rain. I'm not sure where to go to get out of the storm .Im so tired and weak and lonely, and so very hungry. Im just one of those " dime a dozen kitties". I collapse, I sleep, I awaken to the pain of hunger.

"Bridge Over Troubled Water"
Paul Simon

When you're weary, feeling small.
When tears are in your eyes,
I will dry them all.
I'm on your side,
when times get rough
and friends just cant be found.
Like a bridge over troubled water,
I will lay me down.

When you're down and out.
When you're on the street.
When evening falls so hard,
I will comfort you.
I'll take your part
when darkness comes
and pain is all around.
Like a bridge over trouble water
I will lay me down.

Sail on silver bird, sail on by
you're time has come to fly,
all you're dreams are on their way.
If you need a friend,
I'm sailing right behind.
Like a bridge over troubled water,
I will ease your mind.

Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down.

"Dis is mine promise to all the lost , scared and hungry kitties, in mine neighborhood, I will be mewer friend and I will comfort mew. I will be da bridge to mewer new home."

"Sweet Angel Baby"

This sweet angel was not quite as lucky as the ferals in the previous photo. This sweet little gal was thrown into a fire by sick humans with nothing better to do , than to torture innocent creatures. She was brought into a shelter in the tri-state. Vets from all over the country worked with each other to try to save her. But her burns were so severe that the antibiotics didn't help , her system became septic and she had to be PTS. We must never stop advocating "spay and neuter". We must teach our childern the responsabilities of pet owenership. We must do all that is in our power to stop these senseless acts of cruelty. The persons who did this, to this sweet little angel, have  yet to be found  and brought to justice. Please keep your kitties inside if you can so they do not roam and fall victim to such horrendous acts of cruelty.
