Eight stars of gold on a field of blue,
Alaska's flag, may it mean to you
The blue of the sea, the evening sky,
The mountain lakes and the flow'rs nearby,
The precious gold of the hills and streams,
The brilliant stars in the northern sky,
The Bear, the Dipper, and shining high,
The great North star with its steady light.
O'er land and sea a beacon bright,
Alaska's Flag to Alaskans dear,
The simple flag of the Last Frontier.

camp Iditarod is located on the shores of Knik Lake. Knik is the first checkpoint on the Iditarod dogsled race. The mushers cross Knik Lake and race though Camp Iditarod on their way to Nome.
Knik Lake is teeming with rainbow trout; eagles perch in the tree tops, loons sing their soulful song and the ducks and geese swim gracefully across the lake. Wild flowers bloom everywhere
Camp Iditarod's rustic cabins are a wonderful place to experience Alaska.
