Everyone Should Convey God's Message

Some people insist only scholars have any authority to convey God's message. Can this be right as there is no clerical order in Islam ?

In some religions there is a clerical hierarchy, with supreme authority vested either in an individual or a council. Nothing of this applies to Islam.

There is simply no such thing as a man of religion or a priest who administers certain functions or looks after certain aspects of the relationship between human beings and God.

What we have is scholars who are ordinary people but they pursue their studies and acquire a high standard of knowledge.

Quranic knowledge is not the monopoly of any particular group of people. There is nothing in Islam, which is considered the preserve of any particular group. Every Muslim, and indeed anyone should have access to Islamic knowledge. If it is not studied in a formal way, It can be studied by reading the Qur'an.

There are many translations available in English and other languages. There is no barrier to prevent anyone from acquiring such knowledge. Indeed it is necessary to acquire as much knowledge as possible.

The Qur'an is available to all. When Islamic knowledge is easy to acquire in a community, that community reaps real benefits because such knowledge becomes widespread. When you have acquired knowledge about Islam, it should conveyed to other people.

God has made it clear that we should "struggle" with the Qur'an: Chapter 25 verse 52. This instruction to preach the teaching of the Qur'an is for everyone, not just for scholars. It is every individual's responsibility to find out about God, and implement his teachings in our lives and invite others to do the same.

To suggest that only scholars may advocate God's message is to try to create a religious monopoly which Islam does not condone in any way.
