And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be
in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently
unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest
in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and
when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou
shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall
be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write
them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
Deuteronomy 6:6-9

We've just started our 5th year of homeschooling.
Josh is 11 and Ryan is 6. When Josh was in first grade
in public school, I felt the Lord calling us to homeschool.
It wasn't something that we entered into lightly at all.
It took many months of prayerful consideration before we
came to the decision. There have been many, many times
that I wanted to quit but each time God gave me new strength
to go on. I know that this wasn't meant as a learning
experience just for the boys, but also for me!
This year has had a great beginning so far. Josh is studying
Ancient Egypt
and Ryan is studying early American History.
Both boys are using Learning Language Arts through Literature
and we're all enjoying that. We've just finished studying
Japan and plan to have a Japanese night. We visited
Yasuko-san's Home Cooking
for some great looking recipes. And the owner was
kind enough to email me when I asked what a typical Japanese
meal might consist of. We found so many links to Japanese
markets online. Living in West Texas, it's hard to find
ingredients locally. One is AsiaClub.com.
