Italian medals These three Italian medals (with their related ribbons) are given for different reasons: The left one is the CAVALIERE medal, it is given by the Italian President of the Republic for particular merits. It's one of the highest Italian Decorations. The central one is the Medaglia Militare Aeronautica di lunga navigazione aerea d'oro, it is given by the Ministry of Defense for long aerial navigation. This one, in particular, is the Gold one, it comes after the bronze and silver ones. The right one is the Croce per anzianitą di servizio medal, it is given by the Ministry of Defense for long career in the Air Force. This one, in particular, is the Gold one, it comes after 25 years of service and after the bronze and silver ones.
NATO medal This is the Former Yugoslavia medal given by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). It is given to those who served in the peace Operations during the conflict in Bosnia Herzegovina .
legion of merit This is the Legion of Merit medal, the one in the photo is probably the only awarded to an Italian military Pilot.
