| Chichiri is my favorite anime character of all time. He's got a great sense of humor, kicks ass in a fight, is a sorcerer, and he wears that cute monk's outfit. Just a little bit of background information. Chichiri is the oldest of the Suzaku seven, according to other sites I have seen he is roughly 25 years old. Like other members of the Suzaku seven, Chichiri has a tragic past. When he was a young man, he was engaged to be married, but his best friend was also in love with Chichiri's fiancee. This lead to his best friend begging the fiance not to marry Chichiri, and she broke off the engagement. In a rage, Chichiri attacked his best friend. However, at the same time their village was hit by a flash flood. Chichiri tried to save his friend as he was swept away by the water, but it was too late. During the attempt, Chichiri's eye was taken out, and to this day he refuses to let the scar heal. Just makes him more interesting and endearing. |

| Ok, I just wanted to take a brief moment to tell you why I think Chichiri is the greatest anime character of all time. First he just looks so damn cool. Like a said in one of my captions, I like guys with blue hair. (One of my other favorites is Zelgadis from Slayers.) Next, he has the best personality. The writers and the voice actor did a great job. Chichiri is funny but can be serious and a hard ass at the same time. Also, he did not fall in love with Miaka, and that has to count for something. He is probably the strongest warrior of the Suzaku Seven. We know this because he is one of the only ones who does not die. (I have to admit the other deaths made me almost forget about watching the last tape.) Finally, the little monk is a sorcerer. Anybody who can disappear into a hat always gets my vote. |
