The first 6 vols. showcase the powers and a little of the history of the hunters. In these episodes, the groups fight myriad sorcerers showing their powers. Gateau is the brawn in the series. The sisters, Tira and Chocolate Misu, both go through spectacular transformations when the need arises; they become bad ass dominatrix. Marron, Carrot's younger brother, is possibly the most powerful member of the hunters. He uses magic. FInally, as mentioned above, Carrot can transform into a beast when struck with magic. Three other central characters in the series are Big Mama (dumb name), Dota, and Zaha Torte. Big Mama is the employer of the hunters, and also appears to be a Goddess. Dota is her servant/daughter? who is Mama's go-between with the hunters. Finally, (my favorite character) Zaha Torte, is the nefarious evil sorcerer who almost overthrew Mama in a Spell War. Zaha and Mama play much bigger roles in the last 4 Sorcerer Hunter tapes titled Spell Wars.
In these vols. Zaha seeks the hunters out, as he believes that one of them is the reincarnation of a powerful God, a God that can destroy the world. He also has a rather personal relationship with two members of the team. I still haven't gotten the last two tapes of this series, and I don't want to spoil it for anyone so....I'll stop here.
