Later in
the story when Ellen, busy trying to convince Nick that she behaved herself
with "Adam" on the island, goes shopping for a decoy.
Upon meeting
a salesman (Wally Cox), in a shoestore, she is convinced he will be a good
candidate to play her fellow island dweller. Marilyn acted this scene out
as only she could; coyly convincing Cox to follow her home.
Ellen
asks the shoe salesman out to lunch.
