1. Potato : 250 grams
2. Onion : 500 grams
3. Green Chillies : 8 - 10
4. Coconut - 1 (graated)
5. Coriander seeds : 1 teaspoon
6. Green cardamom : 1
7. cinnamon - 1 cm.
8. Coconut oil - 2 tablespoons
9. Mustard seeds((sarason) - 1/2 teaspoon
10. Curry leaves - 2 strands
11. Salt - to taste

Method of preparation

Clean, wash and cut the potatoes and half onions into 8 pieces each. Slit the green chillies. Cook the cut vegetables with a little water and salt till half done. Remove from fire and keep aside.Finely chop the remaining onion. Grind the coriander seeds, green cardamom and cinnamon piece into a fine paste. Beat the grated coconut with 11/2 cups of water in a mixie and take out the coconut milk by filtering through a sieve.In a frying pan heat the oil. Add the mustard seeds and curry leaves. When the mustard seeds crackle, add the chopped onions and fry till golden brown. Add the ground masala and fry for 1 minute. Add the cooked vegetable and saute till the vegetables dry up. Add the coconut milk and bring to a boil. Remove from fire and serve.
Note: The constitency of the dish should be thick.
