Shirt…

...Brief Encounter

(A Double-Drabble)

Another Seventh Galaxy signing. Present would be character actor, Ian McNeice, and “Runaway Bride” taxi driver, Glen Wilson. Fighting transport problems, arriving at 11.45am, Shirt joined the queue. At 12.05pm, Poppy appeared, looking flustered.

“We’ve no idea where Glen is !  Go in, if you only want Ian”, he told the assembled throng.

No-one moved, then two fans left the queue, and slowly walked into the shop.

Deciding to forego Glen’s signature on his newly acquired Series 3 poster, Shirt decided to join them.

First up was Jason Haigh-Ellery, the Large Endings supremo. Shirt paused to congratulate him for setting up the gang’s archenemy, Mr. Oak on television, and to get his CD signed.

Moving along, Ian was in jolly mood, and happily signed the McGann CD that he appears in, as well as Shirt’s “Murder Rooms” video cover and “Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy” film DVD cover (he voices a Vogon). Mr. McNeice seemed impressed with the variety of his body of work, as seen by proffered covers (as was Jason), admitting that he had forgotten some appearances. A brief further chat, and Shirt was exiting the shop, half-an-hour after arriving.

If only all signings could be so !
