The Idea
Why not combine a planned US vacation with meeting people you share some of the same interest with?

If you are a Mariah Carey fan, Vision is just a very nice place to be. Although it's only a mailing list, you will feel like family after only a few days already. It's also the inofficial Mariah Carey internet fan-club, a place to get information, discuss, sometimes argue, meet nice people and last not least you may even find very good friends!

When Simon Gregory, initiator of the first ever worldwide Mariah Carey Fan-Meeting, planned this get-together, his idea was to unite some of the people who write each other, some on a frequent level, to put faces to names, search for Mariah related locations and therefore intensify and build friendships.

He began to do various mail shots to the list,started off with as many as 20 or 30 people willing to attend but as the date drew nearer many decided they couldn't make it for one reason or another. But still he didn't scrap the idea and eventually came down to a hard core of Mariah fans willing to take a chance and come to New York.
