Vrushali 'Janis' Bokil

Vrushali Bokil: Arguably theJanis Joplinof Pune. Vrushali has always guested at shows played by us and she was in fact part of the offshoots out of which Contraband was conceived. First a part of the Fergusson College band with JD,Kened, Sagar,Rahul Kshirsagar and Babu (view photo gallery),she went on to sing with Ashish,Jayant and the gang. A great harmony section I've seen is the incredible duo Vrushali and Kutti Vrushali surely is capable of the best rendition of Janis Joplin that I've ever heard.She went on to do a degree in math at IIT Bombay.(Talk about brains,guys!) The singing continued for awhile, but her grouse is that once she ended up in the U.S.,the land of Janis, she doesn't find the time to do any actual singing. Now studying for a doctorate in Math at the University of Houston, which probably explains why she doesn't find the time. She's having a lot of fun out there and flirting with all the guys as well!
