Union County Public Library is part of the Mountain Regional Library System, which also includes
Towns and Fannin Counties. Union County Library is the busiest library in the system.

The library is located at 194 Hospital Street, next to the Lifelong Learning Center, north of Rite-Aid and Bi-Lo. The library's

A library card is free.
The card may be used at any PINES library within the state. To apply for a card, bring proof that you are a resident of Union
County.
The card catalog may be searched and books renewed and held online. The address is www.pines.public.lib.ga.us. Your user ID is your library card number.
There is an interlibrary loan program for libraries outside the system.
It charges a $1.00 mailing fee for each book.
There are large collections of video-tapes, large print books for the
visually impaired, books on audio-tape, and easy reading picture books for children. There are growing collections
of CD's and DVD's.
There is a Story Hour for children, Mondays, 10:00-11:00. Ms. Linda is the story time person.
The
library sends and receives faxes. The fax number is the same as the library's phone number, 706-745-7491. The charge is .25
per page to receive, $1.50 for the first page to send, and .50 for each additional page to send to the same place at the same
time.
There is a laminating machine. The charge is .10 per inch or $1.00 per foot, with a minimum of .50. Leave
the materials and pick them up at the end of the day.
There are two Xerox machines. The charge is .15 per page for
letter-size copies, .20 for legal-size, .30 for ledger-size.

There are fourteen public access computers. All are connected to a printer. There
is a charge of 15 cents per page for using the printer. There is no charge for using a computer.
The multi-purpose room may be reserved for
special events and meetings. Talk to a staff member.
There is an overhead projector that may be borrowed at no charge
with a library card.
There is a paper cutter.
There is a perpetual book sale room next to the children's section.
Used hardbacks, paperbacks, magazines, LP's, and other a-v materials are offered at inexpensive prices.
