Welcome to the
Fourth Dental Company Web Site.
Commanding Officer's Corner
I would like to be able to wish all a HAPPY NEW YEAR. I hope that the following months keep us all busy and safe with not only Reserve duty task but our own personal life endeavors as well. The past few months have had us all very overwhelmed with filling out forms, submitting personal information to Battalion, and possible thinking about mobilization. I hope we will see a slow down in these activities but it must never be put out of our mind that the reasons we are drilling is for the possibility of going to war. In as effort to do this we must all be prepared!
The few months have hopefully made us all sit up and take into account; are we ready? Not only with our personal documents but also with our training. Can we all perform the way that we would need to if we were recalled? If the answer is no then we need to look at how we are doing business on our drill weekends-- we need to make sure that we incorporate needed training into our everyday routine. We need to make the time to get the paperwork in order and we need to review this on a regular basis. These activities will take us away from dental exams at first, but after a short time they will be routine actions that become a part of the drill and we can go about what we do best without hesitation.
I strongly urge that you look at how prepared you are; how prepared your detachment is, and how prepared the Company is because this is what we are being tasked to do. The better trained we are the more we know about are job and our mission; the better we all will be for the future.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF 4TH DENTAL COMPANY!!!
Lets start off the year with a bang. Please remember it's too late to start studying for the next exam cycle which is the February drill weekend. It really does pay off when you take the time to study.
*****Congratulations to Emma Selix who has been advanced to Dental Technician First Class Petty Officer!!! GOOD JOB!! It can be done!!!*****
******Congratulations to DT1 Selix for being chosen as Sailor of the Quarter for the 4th quarter.****** Next SOQ will be in March. Work toward being your Det's next nominee.
I would like to remind you all to send DT2 Austin photos of your ATs. We love to see and hear about what all you do... both enlisted and officer. Welcome aboard if you have joined us in the last 6 months. Please forward to PO Austin a concise bio on yourself. That way we get to know you.
Captain Gonzalez and I are in the process of putting together our travel plans for the coming year. If there is an event coming up and you would like us there, let us know ASAP. Otherwise we will be doing site visits as we can fit them in with our other commitments.

Greetings to you all!!!!!!
There is alot to pass to you in this edition of the Company Newsletter. With so much going on in our country, there is lots to catch up on. I've submitted several important subjects for your review.
Captain Trammell has turned over the helm to Captain Gonzalez. She has already expressed an interest of setting up future site visits. She is also looking into setting up a Company IDTT. We will keep you posted on that.
Although it seems far away, I'd like to address the Advancement Exams coming up in February of 2002. Can you really ever start too early to study??
Remember, you have Military Requirements added to your test this time. If you haven't been given a copy of my study guide, ask your chief for a copy. If they don't have it, let me know and I will get it to you. If you are a First Class Petty Officer, start reviewingnow. There are alot of Chiefs going "home" because of High Year Tenure. Take this seriously... This is your year!!!
Captain Bruce Doll has relieved RADM (Sel) Libby and Captain Priscilla Coe is his XO. Captain Doll is very approachable and will be a great asset to the Battalion. Be sure to introduce yourself to him if you get the opportunity.
Please contact me with any ideas or concerns you may have. Keep a camera near by and send those candid shots into DT2 Austin!

Welcome to the rebirth of our Company Newsletter! It will focus on promotion issues as well as technical importance and A.T. subject matter. It can relate to your shipmates, your work experience and your best liberty/sea stories! Use it as a tool to share personal and professional development information, brag, educate, motivate or embarrass a fellow dental provider with a 'most embarrassing moment' article.
We Hope to include in every issue a brief history lesson in the Navy's heritage and tradition.
As the first issue comes off the press, I would like to thank DT2 Connie Austin for volunteering to be the editor-in-chief. I encourage, not only your contributions, but also your letters and suggestions.
Let us hear from you.
Future travels...Site visit to San Diego and Los Angeles Dets first weekend in August. I will be in the company of Captain Trammell and Captain Godbold. Looking forward to seeing you all. Keep up the great job you are all doing.
